Monteleone di Orvieto, is located at about 500 meters above sea level, on the mountains that divide the territory of Orvieto from the territory of  Cittą della Pieve; it is set over a rocky headland that for three sides overhangs the Chiani valley.
Due to these natural characteristics, round the 10th century, Orvieto choose the area to build a stronghold to defend his northern border.
Built with red bricks, Monteleone keeps untouched the middle age plant and structure of a fortified village.
In the village, among other, the following events take place:   at Christmas "il Presepe Vivente" ("the Living Crib") that involve the whole village community in the reconstruction of the 2000 years ago Bethlem: in the night between December  24th and 25th Monteleone turns out in a Galilean village with workshops of handcrafters such as weavers, goldsmiths, with inns and soldiers, with the market and, of course, the Nativity.
in August la "Rimpatriata" which involve the whole village in feasts and celebrations; a historical procession with final challenge among the two quarters take place on August 16th;
